As the elders (in the previous post) wanted the job to be finished as soon as possible, we organized a team to work some additional hours. Also, the Chuseok break was coming soon, and no one would paint murals during vacation. That also meant that the final state of the building would be left like that for almost 3 weeks. We thought that we should at least make the walls a bit more beautiful before leaving Jeju for a break.
00 PM- We first met in front of my home, and rode a bus to the village together. And if the reader thought that this session would’ve been easy since it wasn’t hot—no, It was cold instead. We bought some warm, steamed corns (popular winter snacks in Korea) and went to the village.
20 PM- We put our aprons on and began to paint. Because the walls were now painted all in white, we had to draw the outlines on the walls using black paint. The process was relatively easy, but it could’ve been easier if the walls were less rough.
00 PM- We felt too cold and hungry, and decided to reward ourselves with some pork belly. We went to eat some Korean bbq, and soon returned back to the mural painting place.
00 PM- We began working again,
00 PM- One of the parents came to pick us up. This was one of the hardest days, but also one of the most fun days.
