For the past few months, outcomes have been coming out, and progress has been great. However, that also means that we will soon have a problem: we will run out of junk. As this problem occurs quite often, we need a “sustainable” source of junk. But for this time, we decided to pick up the junk by hand around Jeju island and wash them. Another way to gather waste would be to simply buy them or take some cans out of the dumpsters. The former would be much meaningful, but the latter would be much more efficient. We had to find a balance between the two.
We then roamed around our city with a plastic bag to store the junk. Most of the junk could be found around our school and neighboring schools, perhaps because the population flow around them were the most active, and people threw away the cans or cups in their hands as they walked through. But it was also amazing how much waste was being left in the ground. Although it was extremely inefficient, it was still a meaningful chance to see how serious pollution was in Jeju Island.
Luckily, the weather wasn’t that cold in April, but this seriously isn’t suitable for winter. After we collected all the waste, we took them to our storage and washed them. When they were cleaned, we put them in our cupboard.
